Component overview
Installing turbocharger, cylinder row 1 - 4
NOTE: If the hose line of the vacuum unit is difficult to fit, moisten it with water.
1. Attach control line to the turbocharger. Secure the line with a new sheetmetal clip. Subsequently attach the control line to the vacuum unit.
NOTE: The 3 fastening screws of the turbocharger may only be greased on the thread, but not below the head.
2. Screw turbocharger onto the elbow. Grease the 3 fastening screws (M8 x 75) on the thread with the mounting paste: Microgleit LP 475 / 999.917.812.00. Tighten the screws (in two stages) with the specified torque. Initial tightening: 17 ftlb. Final tightening: 22 ftlb.
3. Install turbocharger support. For this, tighten the 2 upper fastening screws (M8 x 20) on the camshaft housing to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 17 ftlb. Then insert the lower fastening screw from the front, replace nut and tighten with the specified torque. Tightening torque: 22 ftlb.
4. Screw oil return line on the oil-filter console and tighten to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 26 ftlb.
5. Fit coolant line on the generator. Push on rubber hose and then fit the spring band clamp. Then position the clamp and tighten the fastening screw to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb.
6. Screw in the oil supply line on the camshaft housing and tighten to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 26 ftlb. Then position the holding clamp and tighten the fastening screw to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb.
7. Screw the vent line back in the oil collection container and tighten to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 26 ftlb.
8. Fit the sheetmetal clip above the elbow and tighten the fastening nut (M6) to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb. Then fit the line mounts to the marked positions.
9. Fit coolant supply line. Push on the rubber hose and fit the spring band clamp.
