3.5 Component Materials For Porsche Vehicles

To apply the painting procedures described in the next Sections correctly to the relevant application instance, i.e. to the component in question, the classification of the component material is of utmost importance for making further progress with repair work.

The materials used are divided into four groups:

Section G5
Section G6
Section S5
Section S6

Body parts from all four material groups are used on the Porsche models.

The different distinctive features of the materials are of utmost importance for selecting products as well as procedures, and must be strictly observed. For example, you can complement the elastic nature of the elastomer elements and thermoplastics by adding plasticizers, for which the rigid GFK, like metal component paint finishes, is conventionally treated.

This Section contains an overview of components, allocated to the relevant Porsche model.
