Preliminary work

1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
2. Remove left rear wheel.
3. Remove long halfshaft flange.

Removing sealing ring for long halfshaft flange

Information
The sealing ring for the long halfshaft flange cannot be replaced while the long halfshaft flange is still installed. In the event of leaks, the sealing ring must always be replaced together with the mounting saddle.

1. Remove mounting saddle.

Unscrew screws -2- and remove mounting saddle -1-.

1. Replace sealing ring for long halfshaft flange.

Always replace seal -2-.

Information
The sealing ring for the long halfshaft flange cannot be replaced while the long halfshaft flange is still installed. In the event of leaks, the sealing ring must always be replaced together with the mounting saddle.

2. Install mounting saddle.





Installing mounting saddle

Fit the mounting saddle and screw in and tighten screws according to the specified tightening sequence -1 - 5-.

M8 screws

- Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

- Torque angle: 90° + 5°

Subsequent work

1. Checking and topping up oil for final drive
2. Install long halfshaft flange.
3. Install left drive shaft.
4. Install left rear wheel.
