Removing and installing cardan flange








Preliminary work

1. Raise the vehicle at the specified jacking points.
2. Remove the underbody panel.
3. Remove cardan shaft.
4. Place oil collection pan under the transmission.

Removing cardan flange

1. Set selector lever to P and firmly set the parking brake.
2. Loosen collar nut with socket wrench P 9669 and unscrew.

3. Remove cardan flange using three-arm puller: span width 100 mm, span depth 100 mm NR.112-1.

1. Engage first gear and firmly set the hand brake.

Information
Transmission shaft and collar nut are connected by a left thread. When loosening and tightening, the direction of rotation of the nut must be observed.

2. Loosen collar nut using socket-wrench insert a/f 30, 1/2" long NR.64 and unscrew.

3. Remove cardan flange using three-arm puller: span width 100 mm, span depth 100 mm NR.112-1.

Installing cardan flange

1. Replace O-ring for cardan flange.
2. Screw on new collar nut and tighten using a socket wrench P 9669.





3. Lock nut by pressing in the collar.

1. Replace O-ring for cardan flange.

Information
Transmission shaft and collar nut are connected by a left thread. When loosening and tightening, the direction of rotation of the nut must be observed.

2. Screw on new collar nut and tighten using socket-wrench insert a/f 30, 1/2" long NR.64.





3. Lock nut by pressing in the collar.

Subsequent work

1. Install cardan shaft.
2. Check transmission oil and top it up if necessary.
3. Fit underbody panels.
4. Lower the vehicle.

Subsequent work

1. Install cardan shaft.
2. Check and if necessary, top up the ATF.
3. Fit underbody panels.
4. Lower the vehicle.
