Eliminating Symptoms In Body Exterior - Reworking Hood Covering

Eliminating Symptoms In Body Exterior - Reworking Hood Covering

General information

Symptoms
Dirtying of driver-side hood covering above sealing frame 2.

Causes and remedial action

NOTE: Only for colored hood coverings.

The winding around the wiring harness brushes against the hood covering when the hood is opened and closed. The hood covering becomes dirty in this area due to adhesive emerging at the cable winding.

If a complaint is received, a boot must be attached to the wiring harness and the hood covering cleaned to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the specified date of introduction January 2007.
