Removing And Installing Hood Compartment Lid






Preliminary work
Remove trim panel for convertible top rest. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for convertible top rest

Removing hood compartment lid

Loosening the wire harness for auxiliary stop light on the convertible top compartment lid






1. Cut tie-wrap -2- around the wire harness for auxiliary stop light -1-.






2. Release plug connection for auxiliary stop light -3- and take off -arrow A-.
3. Pull off wire harness for auxiliary stop light -1- on fastening part -4- in -direction of arrow B-.

Removing convertible top compartment lid






1. Loosen fastening nuts -2- on the right and left and take off convertible top compartment lid -1- with the help of a second person.






Installing hood compartment lid






1. Position convertible top compartment lid -1- on the hinges -3- on the right and left with the help of a second person and fasten the fastening nuts -2-. Tightening torque -] Tightening torque: 7 ftlb.






Locking the wire harness for auxiliary stop light on the convertible top compartment lid






1. Pull off wire harness for auxiliary stop light -1- on fastening part -4- in -arrow A-.






2. Connect plug connection for auxiliary stop light -3- -arrow B-.
3. Fasten wire harness for auxiliary stop light -1- using new tie-wraps -2-.

Subsequent work
1. Install trim panel for hood rest. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for hood rest
2. Adjust hood compartment lid.
2.1. End hood service position. Refer to Hood service position
2.2. Check contours with respect to the side panels, the hood and the rear lid. Refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions
2.3. Move hood to service position.
2.4. Loosen fastening nuts on hood compartment lid.
2.5. Move the hood compartment lid at the hinges to adjust the contours, adjust the hinges if necessary. Refer to Adjusting hinge for hood compartment lid
2.6. Screw down fastening nuts on hood compartment lid. -] Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7 ftlb.)
2.7. End hood service position and check contours.
