Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation
Closing Aid
When closing the rear window, an electric closing aid with an integrated middle attachment and eject mechanism also kicks in. A spring-loaded lock holds the rear window leaving a gap of approx. -> length: 20 mm. If this lock is pressed too far, an electric motor activates the closing aid, which automatically closes the rear window.
Closing aid operation
Closing aid microswitch 1 (intermediate catch)
Closing aid microswitch 2 (unlocked)
Closing aid microswitch 3 (locked)

3. The rear window is locked. All three microswitches are open.
