Removing And Installing Front Roof Trim Panel

Preliminary work

1. Remove roof rail trim on one side. Refer to Removing and installing roof rail trim.
2. Remove sun visor at the left and right. Refer to Removing and installing sun visor.
3. Remove front trim. Refer to Removing and installing front trim.

Removing front roof trim panel







1. Disconnect plug connection for interior mirror.
1.1. Pull holder for plug connection for interior mirror -1- forwards in direction of travel and off the roof assembly -Arrow A-.







1.2. Release holder for plug connection for interior mirror -1- at the two locking lugs -Arrows a- and remove plug connection for interior mirror -2- (-Arrow B-).
1.3. Disconnect plug connection for interior mirror -2- (-Arrows C-).







1.4. Disengage wire harness for interior mirror -3- at the front roof trim panel -Arrows D-.

2. Remove front roof trim panel.
2.1. Pull roof trim panel -1- backwards in direction of travel and remove it from the clips -2- on the roof assembly.







Installing front roof trim panel

INFORMATION: Make sure that the grommets -2 and 3- are fitted correctly on the roof trim panel -1-.







1. Install front roof trim panel.
1.1. Insert roof trim panel -1- forwards in direction of travel and into the clips -2- on the roof assembly.







2. Connect plug connection for interior mirror.
2.1. Engage wire harness for interior mirror -3- on the front roof trim panel -Arrows A-.







2.2. Connect plug connection for interior mirror -2- (-Arrows B-) until the plug connection engages
2.3. Press plug connection for interior mirror -2- into the holder for the plug connection for the interior mirror -1- (-Arrow C-) until the two locking lugs lock with an audible click.







2.4. Slide holder for plug connection for interior mirror -1- backwards in direction of travel onto the roof assembly -Arrow D-.

Subsequent work

1. Install front trim. Refer to Removing and installing front trim.
2. Install sun visor at the left and right. Refer to Removing and installing sun visor.
3. Install roof rail trim on one side. Refer to Removing and installing roof rail trim.
