System Overview
The position of the glass sliding roof is detected via a Hall sensor on the drive motor and via a microswitch for the end position "closed".
For the first time, the glass roof and the roller blind are opened and closed electrically via a shared two-stage rocker switch
Stage 1: Roller blind operation
Stage 2: Sliding sunroof operation
in the centre console at the right next to the handbrake lever - both when the vehicle is stationary and while travelling at any speed.
Roller Blind
Ready for operation
- When the ignition is switched on (engine switched on or off) or
- With door closed and ignition key removed, but only until door is first opened.
The roller blind can be operated independently of the position of the glass sliding roof.
Opening roller blind to the desired position
Pull the rocker switch to the first stage -1- and hold it there until the blind has reached the desired position.
Opening roller blind fully (one-touch function)
Briefly press the rocker switch to the first stage -1-. The roller blind moves to its end position. Touch the rocker switch again to stop it at any position.
Closing roller blind to the desired position
Press the rocker switch to the first stage -2- and hold it there until the blind has reached the desired position.
Closing roller blind fully (one-touch function)
Briefly press the rocker switch to the first stage -2-. The roller blind moves to its end position. Touch the rocker switch again to stop it at any position.
Glass Sliding Roof
Ready for operation
- When the ignition is switched on (engine switched on or off) or
- With door closed and ignition key removed, but only until door is first opened.
- The hinged rear window must be closed.
- It can also be operated conveniently via the door lock cylinder/remote control.
Opening the glass sliding roof
Pull the rocker switch to the second stage -3- and hold it there until the glass sliding roof has reached the desired position.
Closing the glass sliding roof
Press the rocker switch to the second stage -4- and hold it there until the glass sliding roof has reached the desired position.
The glass sliding roof can be opened or closed by up to half a metre within -> time: 7 seconds. The maximum roof opening area is -> control value: 0.45 m2, which is roughly double the opening area of the sliding sunroof on the 911 Carrera Coupe models.

Opening the rear window
The glass sliding roof must be closed. To unlock, actuate the pull-button -A- next to the driver's seat, or press the button for the hinged rear window on the remote control and raise the rear window. The interior light comes on when the rear window is unlocked.
Closing the rear window
Place your hand on the rear window. Push the rear window down until it is automatically pulled closed and locked.
Message in on-board computer
A message appears in the on-board computer if the rear window is not completely closed.
Close the rear window completely.
