Targa Roof Will Not Open or Close (2/09)

Concerns:
Malfunctioning Targa roof.

Information:
- Roof will not fully open/close.
- Roof is binding (will not open/close within the specified time).
- Roof is crooked.
- Roof drive motor rattles or turns without effect.

These malfunctions are caused by component tolerances in the roof assembly drive mechanism (motor, guide tube and riser cable).

Action Required:
In the event of a complaint, replace the various parts of the roof assembly drive mechanism (motors, guide tubes, riser cables). For more information, see --> Workshop Manual '603755 Eliminating symptoms on body exterior - Replacing metal guide tube for mounting unit'.

Affected Vehicles:





The vehicles in question were manufactured between October 2006 and January 2007.

Warranty Info:

^ Vehicles that are still under warranty: submit a warranty claim using normal warranty procedures.

^ Vehicles that are out of warranty by time and/or mileage: submit a Porsche Warranty Assistance Request (PWAR) for case by case consideration, based on the merits of each case.
