Basic Equipment, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Including BOSE (R) Surround Sound System

NOTE: The basic modifications of the audio and communication equipment were adopted from the current 911 generation. Detailed information is provided in the corresponding Service Information Technik.

Like the 911 Turbo (996), the new 911 Turbo (997) also equipped with Porsche Communication Management (PCM), including navigation module as standard equipment. The standard BOSE (R) Sound System of the 911 Turbo (996) was further developed to the BOSE (R) Surround Sound System analogously to the new 911 (997) generation.

The most important modifications are integration in the new overall design, the white LED illumination and utilization of the CD drive as a pure audio CD drive. The DVD navigation drive in the luggage compartment. In addition, various PCM functions are now supported via the optional multifunction steering wheel. New features of PCM include a function for playing MP3 audio files on CD in the PCM drive and an improved mute function, functions which were already introduced for the 911 (997).

New features compared with the 911 Turbo (996) analogous to the current 911 (997) generation:
- Extended navigation module (optional)
- Electronic logbook (optional)
- Rod antenna (optional)

BOSE (R) Surround Sound System:
Like the 911 Turbo (996), the new 911 Turbo (997) is also equipped with a high-quality audio system from BOSE (R) as standard equipment. The BOSE (R) Sound System installed in the 911 Turbo (996) was completely revamped into the BOSE (R) Surround Sound System. The features and content correspond to the optional package for the current 911 (997) generation.

The BOSE (R) Surround Sound System comprises 13 loudspeakers, including a center fill speaker as an additional loudspeaker in the middle of the dashboard.
