Bodyshell

Bodyshell

With its sturdy bodyshell and body structure, including side impact protection, the new 911 Turbo (997) has a safety standard which is as high as that of the current 911 (997) generation. As part of the modification of the exterior styling, the new 911 Turbo is provided with the front fenders and oval headlights already familiar from the current 911 Carrera generation. The rear side panels, including inlet openings for the charge air coolers, were completely revamped on the basis of the 911 Turbo (996) with a new shape.

The widening of the rear side panels results in an overall body width of 1,852 mm. This makes the new 911 Turbo a total of 22 mm wider than its previous model.

Like the current 911 (997) generation, the new 911 Turbo (997) is also provided with a tire repair system. In the USA, the new 911 Turbo is equipped with an additional carbon canister like the current 911 Carrera (997) models in order to ensure compliance with the emission regulations.
