Preliminary Work

1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove pressure pipe.
3. Remove air cleaner housing.

Danger:
Risk of engine failing down.
^ Danger of fatal injury, material damage.

- Support the engine with the prescribed tool.

4. Lower the engine.

Lower the engine by max. 40 mm.

Support the engine using a jack and retainer plate P9592.

Loosen and screw off M12 collar nuts on the engine mounting. Carefully lower the engine using the jack.

5. Remove fuel filter.
6. Remove secondary-air pump.
7. Remove oil-filter console.
8. Remove intake-air distributor, side 1-3.
9. Remove shut-off valve.

Removing additional coolant pump

1. Remove additional coolant pump.
1.1. Pull off cable plug -2-.
1.2. Remove upper coolant hose -3-.

Loosen spring band clamp and pull off coolant hose.

1.3. Unscrew screw -4- for additional coolant pump holder.
1.4. Remove lower coolant hose -5-.

Loosen screw-type clamp and pull off coolant hose.

Information
Use Kluber grease (Syntheso glep, Part No. 000.043.204.68) for all lubrication points.

1. Install additional coolant pump. Grease hoses and connection pieces using the prescribed lubricant.
1.1. Fit lower coolant hose.

Fit coolant hose -5- to bottom of pump and tighten screw-type clamp.

1.2. Fit and tighten screw -4- on additional coolant pump holder.

- Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

1.3. Fit upper coolant hose.

Fit coolant hose -3- to top of additional coolant pump and secure with the spring band clamp.

1.4. Connect cable plug -2-.

Subsequent Work

1. Install shut-off valve.
2. Install left intake-air distributor.
3. Remove oil-filter console.
4. Install secondary-air pump.
5. Raise the engine.

Raise the engine to assembly position using a retainer plate P 9592.

Screw in and tighten M12 collar nuts.

- Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)

6. Install air cleaner housing.
7. Install pressure pipe.
8. Install fuel filter.
9. Connect the battery.
