Engine Oil Filler / Breather Cap: Service and Repair


Removing and installing oil filler neck





Preliminary Work

1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove air cleaner housing.
3. Remove resonance tube.

Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
^ Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
^ Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)





Screws for oil filler neck on crankcase

1. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) from the oil filler neck -1- on the crankcase.

2. Remove holder at the top.
2.1. Pull off vent line at the crankcase -3-.
2.2. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -2-.
3. Pull oil filler neck out of the crankcase.
3.1. Replace O-ring.

Installing oil filler neck

1. Grease and fit new O-ring with "Kluber Syntheso Glep" grease (Porsche Part No. 000.043.204.68).
2. Install oil filler neck in the crankcase.
3. Fit and tighten two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) for the oil filler neck on the crankcase -1-.

- Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

4. Connect crankcase ventilation line -3-.

5. Secure oil filler neck on the holder at the top.
5.1. Fit and tighten two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -2-.

- Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent Work

1. Install air cleaner housing.
2. Install resonance tube.
