Development of the chassis of the new 911 Turbo in conjunction with the PTM all-wheel drive system had the following goals in order to ensure that the vehicle offers typical Porsche driving performance:
- Maximum driving safety.
- Very good handling and positive response.
- High level of driving pleasure, agility, spontaneity.
- Very good driving comfort and excellent day-to-day usability.
- Outstanding traction.

The chassis concept has been adopted from the 911 Carrera 4S and adapted to the specific requirements and driving characteristics of the 911 Turbo. The new 911 Turbo is provided with the familiar PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) chassis, including lowering by 10 mm. This variable suspension system has been specially adapted for the new 911 Turbo so that the chassis offers both sporting comfort and purely sporting comfort and purely sporting characteristics combined with excellent performance and a high level of driving safety. The familiar Porsche Stability Management (PSM) further developed from the current 911 Carrera 4 models with enhanced braking readiness (pre-filling of brake system) and brake assist facility is also standard on the new 911 Turbo. The steering with variable steering ratio corresponds to that of the current 911 generation.
