Removing rear emergency release





Installation position of rear emergency release

1. Carefully unclip trim panel on lower part of lid lock -1- ( -Arrow A- ) and lift it up and off -Arrow B-.

2. Press out bowden cable for emergency release -1- on the lower part of the rear lid lock -2-.

3. Turn screw plugs -1- in -direction of arrow A- and fold luggage-compartment trim panel over in -direction of arrow B-.

4. Press in locking lugs -Arrows- and unclip emergency release -1- from the luggage-compartment trim panel -2-.

5. Press rear of bowden cable -1- out of the emergency release -2- ( -Arrow A- ).

6. Pull actuating cable -3- slightly -Arrow B- and disengage it from the release lever -Arrow C-.

Installing rear emergency release

1. Pull actuating cable -3- slightly -Arrow A- and engage it in the release lever -Arrow B-.

2. Press rear of bowden cable -1- into the emergency release -2- ( -Arrow C- ).
3. Clip emergency release -1- into the luggage-compartment trim panel -2-.

4. Align luggage-compartment trim panel -Arrow A- and secure with the screw plugs -1- ( -Arrows B- ).

5. Press bowden cable -1- in on the lower part of the rear lid lock -2-.

6. Position trim panel for lower part of lid lock -1- ( -Arrow A- ) and press it in until it engages securely -Arrow B-.

7. Check inner luggage compartment release (Trunk Entrapment). -> 556319 Removing and installing emergency release - section on "Checking"

WARNING

The rear lid opens when the vehicle is in motion if a person inside the luggage compartment unlocks the lid.

- The warning light comes on.

-> Stop the vehicle immediately when the warning light comes on.

1. Check whether the upper part of the lid lock automatically disengages from the lower part of the lid lock.
2. => Upper part of lid lock = tool (Porsche spare part) must engage in the lower part of lid lock -direction of arrow-.

3. Unlock release lever in the luggage compartment. Check whether the upper part of the lid lock releases automatically.
