The rear axle concept of the Cayman (987) is based on that of the Cayman S (987) and was modified in the following areas to take into account the specific demands.

Spring Strut

The spring strut consists of a coil spring with internal twin-tube gas-filled damper. The springs have been adapted to the chassis variant and transmission version and are provided with color coding.

- Standard chassis, manual gearbox - Spring rate 37 N/mm (4.33 turns)
- Standard chassis, Tiptronic - Spring rate 37 N/mm (4.48 turns)
- PASM chassis, manual gearbox - Spring rate 46 N/mm (4.04 turns)
- PASM chassis, Tiptronic - Spring rate 46 N/mm (4.13 turns)

Anti-roll Bars

The diameter and strength of the anti-roll bar setup are designed to match the vehicle's weight and driving dynamics.
