Removing And Installing CD Changer

Removing CD changer
1. Push both retaining clips -A- back.
2. Jerk the CD changer with its retaining bracket forward.
CAUTION: Voltage peaks can damage the audio system.
- Before unplugging/removing audio components, remove ignition key and switch off audio system.
3. Release the electrical connectors and unplug them.
4. Unscrew the 6 fastening screws -6- and pull the CD changer out of its retaining bracket.
Removing the US version of the CD changer.
1. Unscrew the 6 fastening screws -1- and pull the CD changer out of its retaining bracket.
CAUTION: Voltage peaks can damage the audio system.
- Before unplugging/removing audio components, remove ignition key and switch off audio system.
2. Release the electrical connectors -4, 5- and unplug them.
3. Undo the two fastening screws -2-.
4. Pull out holder for CD changer -1- toward the front from both fastening parts -4- and take off.
Installing CD changer
INFORMATION: If a new CD changer is installed, the adjusting screw must be in position H.
1. Replace retaining clips for CD changer retaining frame.
2. Insert the CD changer into its retaining frame and screw down tight with the six fastening screws -6-. Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2 ftlb.)
3. Insert electric connectors into the audio components until they are felt to engage.
4. Position the support with the CD changer already attached on the body and move it backwards until the support clicks into place.
5. Check whether the clips have engaged in the body by pulling the CD changer.
Installing the US version of the CD changer.
INFORMATION: If a new CD changer is installed, the adjusting screw must be in position H.
1. Check both sheetmetal clips -3- and both fastening parts -4-, replace if necessary.
2. Press in holder for CD changer -1- with both fastening parts -4- to the body and tighten both fastening screws. Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5 ftlb.)
3. Plug the electrical connectors -4, 5- into the CD changer until they are felt to engage.
4. Insert the CD changer into its retaining frame and screw down tight with six fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)
