Removing And Installing Front Roof Trim Panel






Preliminary work
1. Remove sun visor at the left and right. Refer to Removing and installing sun visor
2. Remove front lock. Refer to Removing and installing front lock

Removing front roof trim panel






1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- and remove convertible-top peg mount -2- downwards -Arrow-.






2. Open up the cap -1- with a screwdriver -Arrow A-.






3. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove mounting saddle -3- (-Arrow B-).
4. Unclip wire harness for interior mirror -1- from the holder -Arrow A- and disconnect plug connection -Arrows a-.






5. Unclip front roof trim panel and remove it by pulling downwards -Arrows-.






Installing front roof trim panel

NOTE: Only in vehicles with automatic anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors.

1. Fit grommet -1- on the front roof trim panel.






2. Fit front roof trim panel to the windscreen frame from below and clip it into position -Arrows-.






3. Connect plug connection for interior mirror -1- (-Arrows a-) and clip it into the holder -Arrow A-.






4. Position mounting saddle -3- on the front roof trim panel -Arrow A- and secure with the fastening screw -2-. -] Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)






5. Press in cap -1- (-Arrow B-).
6. Place convertible-top peg mount -2- on the windscreen frame from below -Arrow-, position it correctly and screw down hand-tight with the fastening screws -1-.






NOTE: To prevent rattling noises, the two convertible-top peg mounts (left and right) must be facing outwards with respect to the centring pins fitted on the convertible top or hardtop when tightening the screws.

The convertible top must be closed or the hardtop must be fitted to check the adjustment.

7. Tighten fastening screws -1-. -] Final tightening: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work
1. Install front lock. Refer to Removing and installing front lock
2. Install sun visor at the left and right. Refer to Removing and installing sun visor
