Removing and Installing Connector (On Transmission Side) For Transmission Wire Harness
Removing and installing connector (on transmission side) for transmission wire harness
Preliminary work
Warning
Hot fluid
Danger of scalding
- Let the fluid cool down.
- Wear personal protective gear.
Warning
Caustic fluid
Danger of chemical burns
- Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- Wear personal protective gear.
- Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
1. Open the cap on the coolant reservoir to relieve the pressure in the cooling system.
Removing connector (on transmission side) for transmission wire harness
1. Unclip transmission wire harness (on vehicle side) at the transmission oil pan.
2. Clamp coolant hoses using hose clamps hose clamp 3093.

3. Loosen spring band clamps -1- and disconnect hoses.
Collect emerging coolant in a clean container.
4. Push the hose out of the holding clamp -3- and press upwards.
5. Disconnect transmission oil cooler from the line. To do this, unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 16) -4-, pull the oil pipe out of the oil cooler flange and press it down slightly.
Collect emerging oil.
6. Disconnect connector (on the vehicle side) -2- at the connector (on the transmission side). To do this, open the bayonet lock -1- by turning it anti-clockwise -arrow- and pull out the connector (on the vehicle side) -2-.
Transmission connection
7. Clean the transmission and connector (on transmission side) in the work area.
8. Remove connector (on transmission side) -2-. To do this, loosen the external hexagon-head bolt (a/f 7, M4 x 26) -3- until the connector (on the transmission side) -2- can be pulled out.
Leave the external hexagon-head bolt (a/f 7, M4 x 26) -3- in the connector (on the transmission side) -2-.
9. Clean the transmission bore.
Only use clean, lint-free cloths for cleaning.
Transmission connector
Installing connector (on transmission side) for transmission wire harness
1. Fit a new connector (on the transmission side) -2-.
The connector (on the transmission side) -2- must be replaced.
2. Insert new connector (on transmission side) -2- into the transmission opening and fit and tighten external hexagon-head bolt (a/f 7, M4 x 26) -3-. - Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)
Check that the guides in the connector (on transmission side) -2- are aligned with the guides in the transmission and that the sealing rings are not damaged during installation.
Transmission connector
3. Connect connector (on the vehicle side) to the connector (on the transmission side) -2-.
4. Replace O-ring on the transmission oil cooler line and clean the connection area.
5. Connect transmission oil cooler line to the transmission oil cooler, fit M6 x 16 (E10) screw -4- and tighten using an E10 Torx tool. - Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
6. Push the hose into the holding clamp -3- and pull downwards.
7. Connect coolant hoses and fit spring band clamps -1-.
Transmission
8. Clip in transmission wire harness (on vehicle side) at the transmission oil pan.
Subsequent work
1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
2. Check the transmission oil level and top up if necessary.
