WM 208055 Replacing accelerator pedal module

Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Remove cover under dashboard in the footwell. -> 702219 Removing and installing cover under dashboard 702219 Removing and Installing Cover Under Dashboard
3. Remove angle -A- at accelerator pedal module for the lower dashboard cover. To do this, pull the angle out of the guide.

1. Pull plug connection -B- off the accelerator pedal module.
2. Remove accelerator pedal module. To do this, remove the three fastening screws -C-.
3. Take the accelerator pedal module out of the footwell and remove the pedal cap -D- by pulling it downwards.
Installing

1. Slide pedal cap -D- onto the new accelerator pedal module.
2. Fit new accelerator pedal module on the bracket -E- using the three fastening screws -C-. => Tightening torque: +10 Nm (+7.5 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
3. Connect plug connection -B-.

Performing Kick down adaptation

1. Connect PIWIS Tester and switch on the ignition.
2. Select the menu item "Diagnosis" in the PIWIS Tester and select a vehicle.
- Read out and erase DME fault memory.

Performing Kick down adaptation:
1. Select "System adaptation" in the DME function selection menu item.
2. Then select "Kick down".
Performing Kick down adaptation in accordance with instructions on the PIWIS Tester:
- Switch off engine
- Press accelerator pedal down fully
Keep the accelerator pedal fully pressed until the message "ADP OK" appears on the PIWIS Tester "System adaptation result" display. The Kick down adaptation is complete. If the message "ADP not OK" appears or if the system aborts or does not respond, start the process again. Check the electric lines if necessary (broken cable, connector unplugged).

Checking actual values
1. Select the "Actual values" function in the DME function selection.
4. Select "Filter" and then select "All actual values".
Select the following actual values from the list:
- Kick down
- Pedal value
Confirm your selection to display the actual values.
5. The following actual values will be displayed if the accelerator pedal is not actuated:
- Kick down: not actuated
- Pedal value: 0 %
6. The following actual values will be displayed if the accelerator pedal is actuated fully:
- Kick down: actuated
- Pedal value: 100 %
The actual values check is now complete.
7. Disconnect the PIWIS Tester from the vehicle.

Subsequent work

1. Insert fastening bracket -A- for the lower dashboard cover into the guide on the accelerator pedal module.
