Removing And Installing Wire Harness For Starter Battery
Technical Values
Preliminary Work
1. The battery ground strap must be disconnected before starting disassembly work.
2. Remove front left covers (engine compartment).
Removing Wire Harness For Starter Battery
Removing External Power Connection
CAUTION:
Risk of injury and damage due to short circuit.
- The battery ground lead must be disconnected before starting disassembly work.
1. Open cap -1- and unscrew fastening nut -2- on the B+ line.
2. Remove B+ lines.
2.1. Open cap -1-.
2.2. Unscrew fastening nut -2- for B+ lines.
2.3. Remove B+ lines -3, 4 and 5-.
3. Release connecting piece for B+ lines -1- (-arrows A-) and remove it -arrow B-.
4. Unscrew fastening screw -1- and lift off external power connection -2- (-arrow-).
5. Release locking lugs on the external power connection -1- (-arrows A-) and remove external power connection -1- from the B+ line -2- (-arrow B-).
Installing Wire Harness For Starter Battery
Installing External Power Connection
1. Connect external power connection -1- to the B+ line -2- (-arrow-) until the locking lugs -arrows- of the external power connection -1- engage securely.
2. Position external power connection -2- on the holder -arrow- and secure with the fastening screw -1-. - Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)±1 Nm (±0.5 ftlb.)
3. Insert connecting piece for B+ lines -1- and press it in -arrow- until the locking lugs -arrows- engage securely.
4. Insert B+ lines.
4.1. Insert B+ lines -3, 4 and 5-.
4.2. Tighten fastening nut -2- for B+ lines. - Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) ±1 Nm (±0.5 ftlb.)
4.3. Close cap -1- until the cap -1- is felt to engage.
5. Tighten fastening nut -2- for B+ line and close cap -1- until the cap -1- is felt to engage. - Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) ±1 Nm (±0.5 ftlb.)
Subsequent Work
1. Install front left covers (engine compartment).
2. Connect battery ground strap and carry out work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
