Part 2
WM 373519 Removing and installing automatic transmission (Continued)1. Place transmission jack under transmission and fasten fixing strap.
2. Unscrew fastening screws between the transmission and the transmission support.
Note:
The fastening nuts of the transmission support must never be loosened at the hydraulic mount because otherwise the transmission brackets will be damaged.
3. Unscrew fastening screws between the body and the hydraulic mount -arrow-.
A - Transmission support
B - Hydraulic mount
C - Fastening nut (never loosen)
4. Unscrew fastening screws -1 to 7- and pull out transmission to the rear and downward.

Danger
If the supports are folded down, the vehicle will roll off the platform lift when it is lowered.
-> Ensure that the platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove supports before lowering.
1. Run in transmission and screw in fastening screws -1 to 7-.
Note:
In order to install the right-hand transmission support with hydraulic mount, the automatic transmission must be pushed towards the left.
2. Install right transmission support with hydraulic mount.
3. Install left transmission support with hydraulic mount.
4. Remove transmission jack.
Assembly work
1. Insert coolant pipe with new O-ring in ATF cooler and screw in fastening screw.
2. Insert coolant pipe with new O-ring in ATF cooler and screw in fastening screw.
3. Install exhaust system mount and tighten fastening screws between transmission and exhaust system mount.
4. Hose clamp 3094 must be removed from coolant pipes (flow and return sides).
5. Screw in retaining screw between the transmission and the coolant pipe.
6. Connect the plug connection for the multi-function switch.
7. Plug in transmission socket plug and turn clockwise up to the stop.
8. Engage selector cable in support bracket and push onto ball journals.
9. Fit drive shafts at transmission side. To do this, screw in the six hexagon socket head bolts joining each drive shaft and transmission flange and tighten screws. Counter at the brake disc or activate the parking brake to avoid simultaneous turning.
10. Install cross member.
Cross member
11. Screw in fastening screws between anti-roll bar and rear axle carrier side member.
12. Clip in vent line on engine transport eyebolt.
13. Push vacuum pipe onto switch-over valve.
Assembly work
1. Insert coolant pipe with new O-ring in ATF cooler and screw in fastening screw.
2. Insert coolant pipe with new O-ring in ATF cooler and screw in fastening screw.
Coolant line
3. Install engine mount for exhaust system and tighten fastening screws between transmission and engine mount for exhaust system.
9. Fit drive shafts on the transmission side. For this purpose, tighten six hexagon socket head bolts between the drive shaft and the transmission flange, respectively. Counter on the brake disc or activate the parking brake to avoid simultaneous turning.
10. Install cross member.
11. Screw in fastening screws between anti-roll bar and rear axle carrier side member.
12. Screw vent line onto the engine transport eyebolt.
13. Push vacuum pipe onto change-over valve.
Install converter screw connection
1. Pull fixing pins (long) 9595/1 out of the opening in the transmission housing.
2. Screw on support for positive crankcase ventilation line to the engine transport eyebolt.
3. Screw in converter fastening screws with 6mm hexagon socket through the openings in the assembly aid 9596.
4. Pull fixing pins (short) 9595/1 out of the belt pulley.
5. Turn crankshaft by 120° so that one of the U4, U5 or U6 bores in the belt pulley is aligned with the centering bore in the crankcase.
Note:
^ The crankshaft is fixed in a defined position by inserting the fixing pin.
^ If the fixing pin can not be inserted, check the correct positioning of the belt pulley in relation to the crankcase.
6. Insert fixing pins (short) 9595/1 through the belt pulley in the crankcase housing bore.
7. Screw in converter fastening screws with 6mm hexagon socket through the openings in the assembly aid 9596.
