General Information

The chassis design of the new 911 models is the same as that of the previous models. To adapt to the improved driving performance, the tuning of the springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars has been reworked for all models. During tuning work, particular attention was paid to models with the new Porsche double-clutch or Doppelkupplung transmission (PDK) as an optional feature. The chassis components have been modified in order to also make full use of the high performance potential offered by this transmission combination on race circuits.

Like the previous models, the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S have different chassis variants.

In addition to the basic chassis, two other chassis options are available for the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera 4: the variable damping system Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with chassis lowered by 10 mm, and only for the 911 Carrera Coupe: the PASM sports chassis (with chassis lowered by 20 mm and mechanical rear-differential lock).

The 911 Carrera S/911 Carrera 4S feature the PASM chassis as standard (10 mm lower than the basic 911 Carrera chassis) and is optionally also available (only the Coupe) with the PASM sports chassis (lowered by 20 mm and mechanical rear-differential lock).
