Removing and installing rocker switch





Preliminary work

1. Remove drivers airbag unit.

Removing rocker switch

The illustrations below show how to remove the left rocker switch. The description also applies for the right rocker switch.

1. Remove steering wheel trim.
1.1. Lever off cover on rocker switch.





Removing cover on rocker switch

Carefully lever off cover -1- on rocker switch using a plastic wedge -2- and remove it.

1.2. Release rocker switch.





Releasing and securing rocker switch

Turn the steering wheel 180° and unscrew screws -2- on the rocker switch -1-. Make sure the washer remains in place when levering off the cover.

1.3. Remove steering wheel cover.





Removing cover on steering wheel

1.3.1. Disengage spring -1- in direction of arrow -arrow- and press and disengage locking spring -2- in direction of arrow -arrow-.
1.3.2. Remove steering wheel cover.





Levering off steering wheel cover

Carefully lever off the steering wheel cover -1- using a plastic wedge and remove front cover.

2. Remove rocker switch.
2.1. Remove console -1- and cover -2-.

Unscrew screws -3- and remove console and cover -1, 2-.

Rocker switch

2.2. Pull off electric connectors for the rocker switches -1, 2-.
2.3. Unscrew and remove screws on the rocker switches -1, 2-.

Installing rocker switch

The illustrations below show how to install the left rocker switch. The description also applies for the right rocker switch.

1. Install rocker switch.
1.1. Secure the rocker switches -1, 2- with screws.

- Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)





Rocker switch

1.2. Connect electric connectors for the rocker switches -1, 2-.
1.3. Install console -1- and cover -2-.

Fit console and cover -1, 2- and screw in and tighten screws -3-





Disassembling and assembling steering wheel cover

2. Install steering wheel cover.
2.1. Install cover on steering wheel.
2.1.1. Clip in steering wheel cover -1-.





Installing steering wheel cover

Engage steering wheel cover -1- in the steering wheel.

2.1.2. Press locking spring -2- in direction of arrow -arrow- and engage it. Engage spring -1- in direction of arrow -arrow-.





Installing steering wheel cover

2.2. Secure the rocker switch.





Releasing and securing rocker switch

Turn the steering wheel 180° and screw in screws -2- on the rocker switch -1-.

2.3. Press on and engage cover on rocker switch.

Subsequent work

1. Install drivers airbag unit.
