Removing and installing solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift adjustment
Preliminary work
1. Remove rear wheel.
Socket-wrench insert P300 should be used to avoid damaging the rims.
2. Remove rear silencer.
3. Remove upper part of heat shield.
Removal
Removing valve (for valve lift adjustment)
Caution
Risk of damage due to particles of dirt.
^ Danger of material damage due to blocked oil bores/oil ducts.
-> Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the engine.
-> Lay removed engine parts on a clean base and make sure to cover them.
-> Use the cover for dust protection when fitting the engine NR.165 on the engine assembly support.
1. Pull off cable plug -1- by pressing the spring clamp.

3 - Spring clamp
1.1. Unscrew two Torx screws (M5 x 12) -2-.

2. Pull valve -1- out of the cylinder head.

3. Replace O-ring -2- and grease with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).

Information
^ The solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift adjustment can be fitted on either cylinder bank.
Installation position:

1 - Installation position of valve for valve lift adjustment, cylinder bank 1-3
2 - Installation position of valve for valve lift adjustment, cylinder bank 4-6
1. Fit valve with new O-ring at the correct position in the cylinder head.
2. Fit two Torx screws (M5 x 12) and tighten to the prescribed tightening torque.

-> Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ft lb.)
3. Connect cable plug.
Subsequent work
1. Install upper part of heat shield.
2. Install rear silencer.
3. Mount rear wheel.
