Removing And Installing Rear Window Cover


Technical values







Preliminary work

Loosen rear gas spring on the body. Refer to Removing and installing rear gas springs.

Removing rear window cover







1. Unscrew fastening screws -2- on both sides of the rear window cover -1-.







2. Loosen fastening nut -3- by two turns -Arrow-.
3. Take rear window cover -1- off the hinges -4-.

Installing rear window cover

1. Install rear window cover.
1.1. Position rear window cover -1- on the hinges -4- and place a shim -5- between the rear window cover -1- and hinge -4-.
1.2. Screw on fastening screws -2- hand-tight.
1.3. Move the rear window cover -1- at the hinges -4- to adjust the contours with respect to the sliding roof cover and rear centre panel. Gap dimension A: 15 mm±2 mm, Gap dimension A: 6 mm ±1 mm. Gap dimension B: 2 mm±1 mm. Refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions.
1.4. Adjust the parallel positioning -Arrows A- of the upper edge of the hinge -4- with respect to the fastening screws -2-. Tighten fastening screws -2- and fastening nuts -3-. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.), Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3.0 ftlb.)







2. Adjust rear window cover.
2.1. Adjust the height of the rear window cover with respect to the rear centre panel by screwing the rubber adjustment stops -1- at the left and right in or out as required. Gap dimension: 6 mm ±1 mm. Refer to Diagram body gap dimensions







Subsequent work

Secure rear gas spring on the body. Refer to Removing and installing rear gas springs.
