Removing And Installing Trim Frame For Rear Window

Removing trim frame for rear window
Removing trim frame for side of rear window
1. Remove trim frame for side of rear window.
1.1. Screw off fastening nut -2- on trim frame for side of rear window -1-.
1.2. Pull out rubber cover -3- (-Arrows-) and unscrew fastening screws -4- on trim frame for side of rear window -1-.
1.3. Take trim frame for side of rear window -1- off the rear window cover.
Removing trim frame for rear of rear window
1. Remove trim frame for rear of rear window.
INFORMATION: The clamping wedge will be irreparably damaged during removal and must be replaced.
1.1. Force out clamping wedge -2- on the trim frame for the rear of the rear window -1- with a plastic wedge -Arrows A-.
1.2. Loosen fastening screws -3- on trim frame for rear of rear window -1- by two turns.
1.3. Take trim frame for rear of rear window -1- off the rear window cover -Arrow B-.
Installing trim frame for rear window
Installing trim frame for rear of rear window
1. Install trim frame for rear of rear window.
1.1. Position trim frame for rear of rear window -1- centred on the rear window cover -Arrow A-.
1.2. Set the gap dimension -X- of the trim frame for the rear of the rear window -1- with respect to the rear centre panel -Arrows-. Gap dimension X: 6 mm ±1 mm. Refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions
1.3. Tighten fastening screws -3-. Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3.0 ftlb.)
INFORMATION: The prick punch mark in the centre of the clamping wedge must be facing upwards during installation.
1.4. Tap in clamping wedge -2- with a plastic wedge -Arrow B-
Installing trim frame for side of rear window
1. Secure inlay nuts -2- on trim frame for side of rear window -1- with adhesive tape -3- to prevent them from falling out.
2. Install trim frame for side of rear window.
2.1. Position trim frame for side of rear window -1- on the rear window cover.
2.2. Set the gap dimension -X- for the trim frame for the side of the rear window -1- with respect to the roof pillar. Gap dimension X: 3 mm ±1 mm. refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions
2.3. Tighten fastening screws -4-. Tightening torque: 1.8 Nm (1.5 ftlb.)
2.4. Press rubber cover -3- into the groove on the trim frame for the side of the rear window -1- (-Arrows-).
2.5. Tighten fastening nut -2-. Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3.0 ftlb.)
