Removing And Installing Spark Plugs

Preliminary work

CAUTION:
Hot components
- Risk of burns Caution
- Let hot components cool down.
- Wear personal protective gear.


1. Remove rear wheel.
Socket-wrench insert P300 should be used to avoid damaging the rims.
2. Remove rear silencer.
3. Remove upper part of heat shield.
3.1. Unscrew two M6 x 12 outer Torx screws (socket insert E10) and remove heat shield.
4. Remove ignition rod module.

Incorrect tool
- Risk of damage to components
- Use prescribed tool.








1. Remove spark plugs using spark-plug socket wrench Nr.14 and extension Nr.15 -1-.


Installation

Installing spark plugs

CAUTION:
Incorrect tool
- Risk of damage to components Caution
- Use prescribed tool.








1. Fit spark plug using spark-plug socket wrench Nr.14 and extension Nr.15 and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
- Tightening torque: 32 Nm (24 ftlb.)
- Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)+3 Nm (+2 ftlb.)

Subsequent work
1. Install ignition rod module.
- Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Install upper part of heat shield.
2.1. Fit heat shield and screw in and tighten two M6 x 12 outer Torx screws (socket insert E10).
- Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

3. Install rear silencer.
4. Mount rear wheel.
Socket-wrench insert P300 should be used to avoid damaging the rims.
