Overview of ATF lines
1 - ATF lines
The ATF lines can be removed and installed without having to remove the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK). When removing and installing ATF lines, make sure that the ATF lines are not strained. To avoid this, always loosen screws on both sides.
Preliminary work
1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
2. Remove underbody panelling.
Removing lines for ATF cooler
Warning:
Hot fluid
^ Danger of scalding
- Let the fluid cool down.
- Wear personal protective gear.
Warning:
Caustic fluid
^ Danger of chemical burns
- Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- Wear personal protective gear.
- Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
1. Remove lines for ATF cooler.
Removing and installing lines for ATF cooler
1.1. Place oil collection pan underneath.
1.2. Loosen ATF lines -3- at the ATF cooler -1-.
Remove screws -5-.
1.3. Remove ATF lines -3- on the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
Unscrew screw -2- for clamping holder -4- and remove clamping holder -4-.
1.4. Remove ATF lines -3-.
Pull off and remove ATF lines -3- at the ATF cooler -1-.
Installing lines for ATF cooler
Warning:
Hot fluid

Information:
Aluminum screws must always be replaced. They must never be re-used.
1. Install lines for ATF cooler.
Removing and installing lines for ATF cooler
1.1. Replace all O-rings.
1.2. Install ATF lines -3-.
Insert ATF lines -3- and fit them on the ATF cooler -1-. Then screw in and tighten screws -5-.
1.3. Fit ATF lines -3- on the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
Fit clamping holder -4- and screw in and tighten screw -2- for clamping holder -4-.
1.4. Secure ATF lines -3-.
Tighten M6 screws -5- and M8 screw -2-.
Information:
The aluminum screws on the Porsche Doppelkupplung must be tightened according to a yield strength-controlled tightening procedure using an electronic torque wrench 9768.
To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the corresponding tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must always be used.
Tighten M8 screw at "medium" setting
- Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
Tighten M6 screw at "medium" setting
- Tightening torque: 2.4 Nm (2 ftlb.)
Subsequent work
1. Check and top up ATF.
2. Install underbody panelling.
