Removing And Installing Cover For Front Seat (Air-Conditioned Comfort Seat)

Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Remove cover for backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for backrest.
2. Mount the front seat on the assembly fixture. Refer to Mounting front seat on assembly fixture.
3. Loosen front belt lock and lay it to one side. Refer to Removing and installing front belt lock (air-conditioned comfort seat).
Removing cover for front seat
1. Carefully press cover piping out of the seat frame using a screwdriver -arrows-.
2. Disconnect plug connections for heated seats -1- (-arrows-).
3. Loosen cover piping -1- slightly with a screwdriver and pull it out with your hand all the way around -arrow-.
4. Unclip fixing clips -1- with a screwdriver -arrow-.
5. Fold cover -1- up slightly -arrows- and cut the cushion clips -2- at the front on the integrated metal strut -3- using side cutters.
6. Cut cushion clips -1- at the rear on the integrated metal strut -2- using side cutters.
7. Remove cover -3- from the padding -4- (-arrows-).
Installing cover for front seat
INFORMATION:
- Fasten cover to the padding, starting from the inside.
- Do so in the following sequence: Rear (metal clips), front (plastic clips).
1. Engage cushion clips -1- in the integrated metal strut at the front -2- of the cover -3-.
2. Place cover -3- on the padding -4- and straighten it -arrows-.
3. Using the cushion clip pliers NR.130 and the cushion clips -1- at the rear, join the integrated metal struts of the padding -5- to the metal struts for the cover -2-.
4. Using the cushion clips -2- at the front, join the integrated metal struts of the padding -4- to the metal struts of the cover -3-.
5. Fold out cover -1- (-arrows-).
6. Check fixing clips -1- and replace them if necessary.
7. Position cover strips at the left and right -2- at the cut-outs provided on the padding and clip them into the seat frame -3- (-arrow-).
8. Fit cover over the padding without creases.
9. Fit cover piping -1- into the seat frame all the way around using a plastic wedge -arrow-.
10. Connect plug connections for heated seats -1- (-arrows-).
11. Fit cover piping at the rear on the seat frame using a plastic wedge -arrows-.
Subsequent work
Removing creases in seat cover (leather)
CAUTION: Risk of damage to cover if excessive heat is applied.
- Creases in cover
- If creases have formed, only short partial warming with the hot-air gun is permissible.
- The hot-air temperature must always be 50°C.
1. If creases have formed, partially heat the affected areas of the cover with the hot-air gun and smooth out the cover using the special tool.

Subsequent work
1. Secure front belt lock. Refer to Removing and installing front belt lock (air-conditioned comfort seat).
2. Install cover for backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cover for backrest.
