Removing And Installing Padding For Front Seat (Air-Conditioned Comfort Seat)

Preliminary work
1. Remove cover for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front seat (air-conditioned comfort seat).
2. Remove suction fan for seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing suction fan for seat surface.
Removing padding for front seat
Disconnecting wire harness for heated seats
1. Cut tie-wrap -1-.
2. Release plug connection for heated seats -2- at the locking lugs -arrows A- and pull it off -arrow B-.
INFORMATION: Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.
3. Pull wire harness out through the seat frame -arrows-.
Removing padding for front seat
1. Unclip fixing clip -1- on the underside of the padding -2- (-arrow A-).
2. Loosen padding -2- from the seat frame -3- in the bonding area -4- using a Stanley knife -arrows B-.
3. Fold padding -1- up -arrows A- and pull out intake plenum connection -2- (-arrow B-).
4. Remove remaining adhesive -1- and clean the contact surface of the seat frame -2- with cleaning solution.
Installing padding for front seat
1. Apply adhesive -1- to the marked area of the padding -2-.
INFORMATION: Sealing surface of seat frame must be clean and free of grease.
2. Pull intake plenum connection -2- through the seat frame -arrow A- and fold padding -1- forward -arrows B-.
3. Press on padding -2- at the sides -arrows A- and clip in fixing clip -1- on the underside of the padding -2- (-arrow B-).
Securing wire harness for heated seats
INFORMATION: Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.
1. Pull wire harness through the seat frame -arrows-.
2. Connect plug connection for heated seats -2- (-arrows-) until the locking lugs engage securely.
3. Secure plug connection for heated seats -2- with a tie-wrap -1- on the seat frame.
4. Install suction fan for seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing suction fan for seat surface.
Subsequent work
Checking seat following removal
1. Connect the removed seat to the vehicle's wiring harness via test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.
2. Connect electric plug to control module trim panel. Refer to Removing and installing control module trim panel.
3. Connect the battery. Refer to Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
4. Switch on ignition.
5. Carry out a function check on the seat components.
6. Switch off ignition after function test and disconnect battery.
7. Disconnect test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.
Subsequent work
1. Install cover for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front seat (air-conditioned comfort seat).
