Replacing Front Seat Frame (Air-Conditioned Comfort Seat)

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove padding for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing padding for front seat (air-conditioned comfort seat).
2. Remove wire harness for seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for seat surface (front seat).
3. Loosen wire harness for backrest close to the seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for backrest (front seat).

Disassembling seat frame

Installing frame for seat surface

1. Press out locking pins -1- at the left and right using a screwdriver.







2. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.
3. Pull frame for seat surface -3- downwards -arrow A- and take it -arrow B- out of the seat frame -4-.

Removing backrest frame

INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove and install the backrest frame.

1. Hold backrest frame -3- upright.







2. Unscrew fastening screws -1- at the left and right and remove support panel -2- (-arrow A-).
3. Lift backrest frame -3- up out of the seat frame -arrow B-.

Assembling seat frame

Installing backrest frame

INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove and install the backrest frame.

1. Guide backrest frame -3- into the seat frame -arrow A-.







DANGER: Loosen the safety screws.
- Danger of injury if front seat is not screwed down correctly.
- Always replace fastening screws for the front seat after customer service and reworking.
- It is not permissible to make alterations to the micro-encapsulated screws (e.g., use lubricant, loosen bolts, and screw them down again).

2. Position support panel -2- on the seat frame -arrow B- and secure with the fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 34 Nm (25 ftlb.)±4 Nm (±3 ftlb.)

Installing frame for seat surface

1. Position frame for seat surface -3- on the seat frame -4-.







2. Secure frame for seat surface -3- with the fastening screws -2-.
3. Press in new locking pins -1- at the left and right.

Subsequent work

1. Install wire harness for backrest close to the seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for backrest (front seat).
2. Install wire harness for seat surface. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for seat surface (front seat).
3. Install padding for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing padding for front seat (air-conditioned comfort seat).
