Removing and Installing Control Unit For Gas Discharge

Preliminary work
1. Remove main headlight.

Removing main headlight lid







1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- on the lid.







2. Release the lid at one attachment point at the top and two at the bottom -a- and remove it from the main headlight.

Removing gas-discharge control unit







1. Unscrew the three fastening screws for the control unit bracket -1-.







2. Turn electric connector on the gas-discharge headlight -2- anti-clockwise (bayonet lock) and pull it off.
3. Pull cable for gas-discharge headlight out of the terminal -3-.







4. Carefully release and lever out the electric connector -4- on the control unit using a screwdriver.







5. Unscrew the fastening screws -5- for loosening the control unit from the bracket.







6. Press the clip on the bracket back and remove the control unit.

Installing control unit for gas discharge

Installing gas-discharge control unit







1. Insert control unit into the bracket until it engages securely.







2. Screw in the fastening screws -5- for securing the control unit in the bracket.







3. Push on electric connector -4- for the gas-discharge control unit until the connector engages securely.







4. Press cable for gas-discharge headlight into the terminal -3-.
5. Connect electric connector -2- and turn it clockwise as far as it will go (bayonet lock).







6. Position control unit bracket and secure with the three fastening screws -1-

Installing main headlight lid







1. Position lid on the main headlight and press it on. Make sure that the lid engages at one attachment point at the top and at two attachment points at the bottom.







2. Screw in the four fastening screws -1- for the lid.

Subsequent work
1. Install main headlight.
