Removing and installing sealing ring for drive shaft
Preliminary work
1. Remove engine-transmission unit
2. Remove transmission.
3. Remove release bearing.
Removing sealing ring for drive shaft
1. Remove guide tube for release bearing.
2. Remove sealing ring for drive shaft.
Removing sealing ring on drive shaft
2.1. Puller 9629 must be screwed securely into the sealing ring.
Pulling out sealing ring on drive shaft
2.2. Pull sealing ring out by screwing in the hexagon-head bolt.
Installing sealing ring for drive shaft
1. Install sealing ring for drive shaft.
Assembly sleeve on drive shaft
1.1. Assembly sleeve 9255 must be pushed onto the splines of the drive shaft.
1.2. Fill the space between the dust and sealing lips on the sealing ring with grease (e.g. Liqui-Moly).
Installing sealing ring on drive shaft
1.3. Drive sealing ring in as far as the mounting face using the pressure piece 9256.
2. Install guide tube and tighten the fastening screws.
Information
^ The guide tube fastening screws are micro-self-locking and must always be replaced.
Screws for guide tube -> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
3. Clean the drive shaft splines and grease with a thin coat of Olista Longtime 3 EP (only as corrosion protection).
Subsequent work
1. Install release bearing.
2. Refit transmission.
3. Install engine-transmission unit.
