Intake air temperature implausible

NOTE:
- The fault is detected if the measured value changes by only less than 1.5 °C (2.7 °F) under the conditions detailed below.
- The intake air temperature sensor is integrated into the hot-film mass air flow sensor.

Diagnostic conditions
- Cold start conditions met, i.e.:
- engine off for > 9 hours
- Coolant temperature has fallen by > 35 °C (63 °F) since last engine stop
- Coolant temperature when engine starts < 37 °C (99 °F)
- Difference between intake air temperature and coolant temperature < 6 °C (10.8 °F)
- Vehicle has NOT been and is NOT standing in the sun
- Engine start recognized
- Engine running > 23 minutes
- Distance driven > 8 kilometers (4.4 miles)
- Coolant temperature > 60 °C (140 °F)

Possible fault causes
- Intake air temperature sensor faulty
