Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove trim panel for hood compartment. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for hood compartment.

Removing hood compartment lid

Loosening wire harness for SDARS antenna







1. Cut tie-wrap -2- on wire harness for SDARS antenna -1-.







2. Unclip plug connection for SDARS antenna -3- from the bracket -4- (-arrow A-).
3. Release plug connection for SDARS antenna -3- at the locking lug and pull it off -arrow B-.
4. Disengage wire harness for SDARS antenna -2- at the fastening part -5- in -direction of arrow C-.

Removing hood compartment lid

1. Loosen fastening nuts -2- at the left and right and lift hood compartment lid -1- up and off with the help of a second person -arrows-.







Installing hood compartment lid

1. Position hood compartment lid -1- at the hinges -3- on the left and right with the help of a second person -arrows- and secure with the fastening nuts -2-. Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)







Locking wire harness for SDARS antenna

1. Press in wire harness for SDARS antenna -1- at the fastening part -5- (-arrow A-).







2. Connect plug connection for SDARS antenna -3- (-arrows B-) until it engages securely.
3. Clip plug connection for SDARS antenna -3- into the bracket -4- (-arrow C-).
4. Secure wire harness for SDARS antenna -1- with a tie-wrap -2-.

Subsequent work

1. Install trim panel for hood rest. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for hood rest.
2. Adjust hood compartment lid.
2.1. End hood service position. Refer to Hood service position
2.2. Check contours with respect to the side panels, the hood and the rear lid. Refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions.
2.3. Move hood to service position.
2.4. Loosen fastening nuts on hood compartment lid.
2.5. Move the hood compartment lid at the hinges to adjust the contours, adjust the hinges if necessary. Refer to Adjusting hinge for hood compartment lid.
2.6. Screw down fastening nuts on hood compartment lid. Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7 ftlb.).
2.7. End hood service position and check contours.
