Preliminary work

1. Remove hydraulic pump. Refer to Removing and installing hydraulic pump.
2. Remove the rear side trim panel. Refer to Removing and installing rear side trim panel.

Removing hydraulic cylinder







CAUTION: Incorrect handling of hydraulic system
- Risk of damage to hydraulic system
- Malfunction in hydraulic system
- Do not bend, trap or crush hydraulic lines.
- Protect hydraulic system from contamination.


1. Remove splash guard.







1.1. Pull the splash guard -1- up out of the chamber in the water drip pan -2- (-arrow-).

2. Disconnect hydraulic lines.







2.1. Pull the water drain hose -1- out of the retaining clip -2- (-arrow A-).
2.2. Pull the hydraulic line -3- out of the retaining clip -4- (-arrow B-).
2.3. Press hydraulic lines -1- out of the retaining clip -2- (-arrow A-).







2.4. Press hydraulic lines out of the retaining clip -3- (-arrow B-).
2.5. Remove tie-wrap -4-.

3. Remove drive lever.







3.1. Press the two safety clips -1- off the drive lever -2- using the Springfix system assembly tool for pin circlips NR.131.
3.2. Remove the drive lever -2- (-arrow-).

4. Disconnect hydraulic cylinder.







4.1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1-.
4.2. Pull the hydraulic cylinder -2- out slightly using the drive lever and lift it up and off -arrows-.

Installing hydraulic cylinder

NOTICE: Incorrect line routing
- Risk of damage to lines and hoses
- Malfunction and fault memory entry on control unit
- Avoid small bending radii when routing lines.
- File down edges and burrs in the routing area or mask them with adhesive tape.
- Maintain a sufficient distance from components exposed to high temperatures while driving.

1. Secure the hydraulic cylinder.







1.1. Position hydraulic cylinder -2- on the hood support with the drive lever and slide the potentiometer fork into the pin of the hydraulic housing (on the left side only) -arrows-.
1.2. Tighten fastening nuts -1-. Tightening torque: 17 Nm (13 ftlb.) ±2 Nm (±1.5 ftlb.)

2. Connect drive lever -2- (-arrow-) and secure with the safety clip -1-.







3. Secure hydraulic lines.







3.1. Press hydraulic line -3- into the retaining clip -4- (-arrow A-).
3.2. Press water drain hose -1- into the retaining clip -2- (-arrow B-).
3.3. Press hydraulic lines -1- into the retaining clips -3- (-arrow A-).







3.4. Secure hydraulic lines using a tie-wrap -4-.
3.5. Press hydraulic lines into the retaining clip -2- (-arrow B-).

4. Fit the splash guard -1- in the chamber in the water drip pan -2- (-arrow-).







Subsequent work

1. Install hydraulic pump. Refer to Removing and installing hydraulic pump.
2. Calibrate hood. Refer to Calibrating hood
3. Install the rear side trim panel. Refer to Removing and installing rear side trim panel.
