Symptoms

Rattling noises from around the front roof trim panel.

Causes and remedial action

Rattling noises can be heard while driving due to a loose plug connection that is not acoustically decoupled (sun blind switch).

In the event of a complaint, a felt strip must be wrapped around the plug connection (sun blind switch) to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction July 2005.

Preliminary work

Loosen front roof trim panel and leave it hanging. -> 601219 Removing and installing switch for sunroof - section on "Removing" Service and Repair


Reworking front roof trim panel

1. Cut a felt strip approx. 250 mm long.
2. Cover plug connection for the sun blind switch -1- with the felt strip -2-.





Sticking felt strip around plug connection

Subsequent work

Secure front roof trim panel. -> 601219 Removing and installing switch for sunroof - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
