Rattling noises from around the locking mechanism for rear backrest.

Causes and remedial action

Rattling noises can be heard while driving due to relative movements between the locking mechanism for the rear backrest and the locking pin.

In the event of a complaint, the locking pin must be re-adjusted to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction November 2005.

Reworking locking mechanism for rear backrest

1. Remove luggage compartment cover. => Luggage compartment cover
2. Check locking pin adjustment.
3. Adjust locking pin (bolt head) -1- so that there is no contact between the locking hook -2- and fastening screw -3- before the rear backrest is engaged.

5. Install luggage compartment cover. => Luggage compartment cover
