Information
Always read the information concerning modified tightening specifications and component changes relating to repairs provided for specific engine numbers in the Information section.
Preliminary work
1. Remove the engine.
2. Remove engine from transmission.
3. Secure engine on assembly support.
4. Drain engine oil.
5. Disassemble the engine. Cylinder heads are removed, but must remain intact. The starter, knock sensors, thermostat housing and coolant guide remain fitted on the crankcase.

7 - Shaft sealing ring - Do not touch sealing ring lip! Clean crankshaft flange and oil lightly

A - Direction of travel (main bearing 1 is the first in direction of travel against output)
