Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Valve lift control, bank X

NOTE: Diagnosis detects that the valves of the specified bank are stuck in the small or large lift by way of the vibration behavior of the camshafts.

Diagnostic conditions
- Produce small lift:
- Time after engine starts > 5 minutes
- Engine speed between 1,250 rpm and 1,600 rpm
- Mass air flow between 180 mg/stk and 350 mg/stk
- Produce large lift:
- Time after engine starts > 5 minutes
- Engine speed between 1,250 rpm and 2,100 rpm
- Mass air flow between 300 mg/stk and 600 mg/stk

Possible fault causes
- Engine oil pressure too high or too low
- Loose contact or corrosion on connectors or lines
- Solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift control on bank X faulty
