Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Accelerator pedal potentiometer

NOTE:
- The system is in pedal sensor standby mode, i.e. the accelerator pedal angle is calculated from the remaining potentiometer signal.
- The dynamic response is reduced.

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage > 9 V
- Ignition on > 3 sec.
- Then fully depress accelerator
- Release accelerator after 3 seconds
- Then engine idling > 10 seconds

Possible fault causes
- Short circuit to B+
- Short circuit to ground
- Accelerator pedal module faulty

Affected contacts on the DME control unit connector
Connector [A]:
- Contact 39, potentiometer 1
- Contact 52, potentiometer 2

Affected contacts on the pedal sensor connector
- Contact 4
- Contact 6
