Removing And Installing Water Tube For Auxiliary Heating - Water Tube From Directional-Control Valve To Second Heat Exchanger

Preliminary Work
1. Remove complete heater.
2. Remove intake muffler with intake manifold.

Removing Water Tube For Auxiliary Heating - Water Tube From Directional-control Valve To Second Heat Exchanger











1. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove water tube holder -1-.







2. Drill out blind rivet -1- at the water tube.
3. Remove water tube holder.
3.1. Screw off both fastening nuts -1-.
3.2. Unscrew fastening screw -2-.







3.3. Remove water tube holder -3- ( -arrow- ).

4. Loosen water tube at the heater.
4.1. Undo spring band clamp using assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrows A- ) and push down off the adapter -arrow B-.







4.2. Pull water tube down at the heater -arrow C- and remove water tube.







5. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the heater.
6. Loosen water tube on directional-control valve at the top.
6.1. Undo spring band clamp using assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrows A- ) and push down off the connection -arrow B-.







6.2. Pull water tube off the directional-control valve -arrow C- and remove it.

Installing Water Tube For Auxiliary Heating - Water Tube From Directional-control Valve To Second Heat Exchanger
1. Secure water tube on the directional-control valve at the top.

INFORMATION: Before connecting the water hoses, apply suitable rubber lubricant to the flanges.

1.1. Place water tube in installation position and slide onto the directional-control valve at the top -arrow A-.
1.2. Slide spring band clamp onto the connection using the assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrow B- ) and align with the markings.







1.3. Slacken spring band clamp -arrows C- and secure the hoses.







2. Position heater on holder and secure with the fastening screws -1-. - Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
3. Secure water tube at the heater.

INFORMATION: Before connecting the water hoses, apply suitable rubber lubricant to the flanges.

3.1. Place water tube in installation position and slide it onto the heater -arrow A-.
3.2. Slide spring band clamp onto the connection using the assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrow B- ) and align with the markings.







3.3. Slacken spring band clamp -arrows C- and secure the hose.

INFORMATION:
- Make sure the water tube holder is installed at the correct position.
- The exhaust pipe runs behind the water tube holder.

4. Install water tube holder.
4.1. Position water tube holder -3- ( -arrow- ).
4.2. Tighten fastening screw -2-. - Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)







4.3. Tighten fastening nuts -1-. - Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)







5. Position water tube on holder and secure with a blind rivet -1- (4.8 x 10).







6. Push water tube holder -1- onto the two water tubes and screw down using the fastening screw -2-. - Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)

Subsequent Work
1. Install intake muffler with intake manifold.
2. Install complete heater.
