244055 Replacing DFI high-pressure fuel injector - IMPORTANT!
WM 244055 Replacing DFI high-pressure fuel injector - IMPORTANT.
Information
The high-pressure fuel injectors are replaced as described in -> 244019 Removing and installing high-pressure fuel injector (DFI) 244019 Removing and installing high-pressure fuel injector (DFI).
- All four injectors in a cylinder bank must be replaced if a single injector fails following an injector service life of more than 10,000 km (6,000 miles). Depending on the engine number, fuel injectors can be replaced individually with classified high-pressure fuel injectors irrespective of the mileage.
- The injectors have running-in characteristics and it only takes a single replaced injector to negatively influence the bank-specific oxygen sensor adaptation at a higher mileage in excess of 10,000 km (6,000 miles).
- For a limited number of engines, a one-off bank-specific replacement of the injectors is required if a single injector fails for an engine service life of less than 10,000 km (6,000 miles). The first mileage specified above applies thereafter. In this regard, see TI -> 244000 Replacing high-pressure fuel injector (DFI).
- When replacing the injectors, a previous replacement of the injectors must be taken into account depending on the vehicle mileage. For this purpose, previous workshop visits can be viewed in the PIWIS information system by selecting Vehicle identification -> Vehicle history -> Vehicle identification number.
- Classified high-pressure fuel injectors are installed, depending on the engine number. Two different injectors for naturally-aspirated engines and two different injectors for Turbo engines with different flow rates are used. The colour clips merely differentiate the injectors for naturally aspirated from those for Turbo engines (blue and yellow). As described in the TI -> 244000 Replacing high-pressure fuel injector (DFI), the part numbers must be checked when replacing injectors individually. See also Porsche Spare Parts Catalogue.
