Overview of servo motor

1. Before beginning to work on the servo motor for the transfer box, engage the Low Range offroad driving program.
2. Disconnect Low Range cable plug -arrow- on the servo motor and loosen cable holder -A-.

3. Pull centre-differential lock cable plug -arrow- off the servo motor.

4. Unscrew servo motor threaded joint on the transfer box.

5. Remove servo motor with holder.

CAUTION

Servo motor not fitted correctly

- Risk of damage to servo motor electronics
- Servo motor is sluggish

-> Fit servo motor by hand.
-> Do not use impact tools or strikers, e.g. a hammer.

Information

- If a new servo motor is to be installed, it will be supplied in Low Range setting, off-road driving programme.

- If a new servo motor is installed, the transfer gear control unit must be replaced. => 391319 Removing and installing transfer gear control unit

1. Connect the servo motor to the shaft on the transfer gear. Position the cut-out on the shaft -right inset- in line with the servo motor -left inset-.

2. Screw in servo motor screws -arrows- on the transfer gear. => Tightening torque: 27 Nm (20 ftlb.)
3. Screw in threaded joint for servo motor support -arrows- on the transfer gear. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

4. Connect centre-differential lock cable plug -2- , Low Range -1- and secure cable holder.

Information

- If a new servo motor is to be installed, it will be supplied in Low Range setting, off-road driving programme.

1. Install a new transfer gear control unit. => 391319 Removing and installing transfer gear control unit
