Removing And Installing Rear Lid Release Motor

Preliminary work

1. Remove trim panel on luggage compartment pan. Refer to Removing and installing rear luggage compartment trim.

Removing rear lid release motor







1. Pull lid release motor -1- forward behind the spoiler drive -arrow B- until the connector -3- is easily accessible.







2. Open up plastic foam -2- (-arrow C-).
3. Release connector -3- (-arrows a-) and pull it off -arrow D-

Installing rear lid release motor

1. Plug in connector -3- (-arrow A-) until it engages securely.







2. Close plastic foam -2- (-arrow B-).
3. Slide lid release motor -1- behind the spoiler drive -arrow C- until the bowden cable can be engaged on the lock.

Checking rear lid release motor

1. Lock the lower part of the lock.
2. Actuate the rear lid release switch.
3. Check that the lower part of the lock disengages automatically and the upper part of the lock releases. Adjust the length of the bowden cable by moving the lid release motor if necessary.

Checking inner luggage compartment release (Trunk Entrapment)

1. Check that the lower part of the lock disengages automatically and the upper part of the lock releases.
2. UPPER PART OF LOCK = tool (Porsche spare part) must be engaged in the lower part of the lock -direction of arrow-.







3. Press the release lever in the luggage compartment and check that the lower part of the lid lock disengages automatically.

1. Remove trim panel on luggage compartment pan. Refer to Removing and installing rear luggage compartment trim.
