Removing wiring harness for convertible top

Disconnecting electric plug connection at rear window







NOTE:
Electric plug connection for rear window not disconnected or connected correctly
- Connector can break or become detached
- Carefully pull off and connect plug coupling.







1. Carefully disconnect plug connection -2- on left and right from the connector -1- at the rear window.


Loosening roof liner connection to tension bow







1. Press out plastic expansion rivets -1- at the roof liner connection -2- on the right and left of the tension bow -3-.


Removing clamping strip of cloth from convertible top frame







1. Remove clamping strip -1- of cloth -2- over the entire length of the convertible top frame -3-.

Disconnecting electric plug connection of wiring harness for convertible top







1. Fully open the convertible top
2. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.







3. Pull off connector -1- -Arrow A-, unclip retaining clip -2- -Arrow B- and pull out wiring harness from the body -Arrow C-.

Removing wiring harness for convertible top

INFORMATION: The wiring harness for the convertible top is sewn into the cloth and can only be replaced together with this.

1. Switch on ignition.

INFORMATION: Move convertible top to service position, but do not engage retaining strap on centering pin.

2. Move convertible top to service position.
3. Switch off the ignition.

INFORMATION: The hook 3 must not be removed from the pin as this is tensioned by the rubber strap.







4. Disengage cloth -1- with the two retaining straps -2- on the hook -3- -Arrow A- and remove -Arrow B-.

Installing wiring harness for convertible top







1. Insert cloth -1- -Arrow A-, align and engage with the two retaining straps -2- on the hook -3- -Arrow B-.
2. Switch on ignition.
3. End convertible top service position.
4. Switch off the ignition.

Connecting electric plug connection of wiring harness for convertible top







1. Push wiring harness through the body -Arrow A- and fasten with the retaining clip -2-. Push on the connector -1- -Arrow C-.
2. Switch on ignition and close convertible top.

Fitting clamping strip of cloth on convertible top frame







1. Fit clamping strip -1- of cloth -2- over the entire length of the convertible top frame -3-

Fastening roof liner connection to tension bow







1. Press plastic expansion rivets -1- at the roof liner connection -2- through the fastening holes of the cloth into the tension bow -3- on the left and right.

1. Carefully connect plug connection -2- on left and right to the connector -1- at the rear window.
