Removing And Installing Gas-discharge Control Unit

Preliminary work
1. Remove main headlight.

1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- on the cover.
2. Release the cover at one attachment point at the top and bottom and remove it from the main headlight.
3. Remove control unit for gas-discharge headlight.

1. Unscrew the three fastening screws -1- for the control unit holder.







2. Turn the connector for the gas-discharge headlight anti-clockwise (bayonet lock) and pull it off.







3. Carefully release and lever out the electric connector -4- on the control unit using a screwdriver.







4. Slide the headlamp unit to one side and pull the high-voltage wire out of the holder.
5. Unscrew the two fastening screws on the control unit holder and pull the control unit out of the holder.

Installing gas-discharge control unit
1. Slide the control unit into the holder and secure with the two fastening screws.







2. Engage the high-voltage line on the headlamp unit.







3. Push on electric connector -4- for the gas-discharge control unit until the connector engages securely.







4. Connect electric connector to the gas-discharge headlight and turn it clockwise as far as it will go (bayonet lock).







5. Fit gas-discharge control unit and secure with the three fastening screws -1-.

Installing main headlight cover







1. Position the cover on the main headlight and press it on. Make sure that the cover engages at one attachment point at the top and bottom.
2. Screw in the four fastening screws -1- for the cover.

Subsequent work
1. Install main headlight.
