Remove trim panel for tailgate or trim panel for rear lid. -> 709219 Removing and installing trim panel for tailgate - section on "Removing"

Loosen headliner in rear area. -> 708419 Removing and installing headliner - section on "Removing" 708419 Removing and installing roof lining

Removing wire harness in rear lid





Installation position





1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
2. Disconnect electric plug connection -A-E -.
3. In area of left C-pillar, release both electric plug connections -F- - wire harness for rear lid to main wire harness - -A- and disconnect.

4. Unclip wire harness on roof and pull to the rear out of the "inner roof" area.

5. Unclip wire harness on rear lid -A, B- , press out the rubber covers for the rear lid wire harness, pull the wire harness out through the lid -C- and remove.

Installation position





1. Route plug connections from the passenger compartment wire harness in the rear lid and press in the two rubber sleeves in the rear lid.

2. Position wire harness on rear lid and clip in.

3. Route wire harness through the roof opening, press on the rubber sleeve, route the wire harness in the roof and fix with two clips.

4. Route the harness along the C-pillar and connect to the passenger compartment harness -F-.

5. Insert electric connectors -A - E-.

6. Electrical loads: Check operation of auxiliary stop light, rear window heating, interior light, wiper motor.
